P. Andre Arguimbau, Owner & Sawyer

Andre’s leads timber procurement, milling operations, and has worked with clients on the design and build of over 100 projects. Andre milled twenty-five wide diameter hardwood species to develop an inventory of five hundred slabs. Andre graduated from Loomis Chaffee, College of Charleston, and began woodworking at Greenwich Country Day with Peter McKenna.

Sam Kenneway, Carpenter & Design Director

Sam has a degree in architecture and building construction technology from the University of Massachusetts. Since graduating Sam has worked on a timber framing crew, strengthened his skills in project design at an Architecture firm in Manhattan, and is currently studying for his Master of Architecture at Boston Architecture. He began woodworking at a young age, and has been building with Northeast Hardwood for 3+ years. Sam works in the Newport shop with Andre, building furniture from slabs of all shapes, sizes, and species.

Paul Matthews, Project Director

Paul leads projects at the mill, in the shop, and on installations. He brings 30 years of carpentry experience to the team. Paul is a finish carpenter, runs CNC machinery, and has a wide knowledge of finish applications, paints, and varnishes. Paul lives in Chappaqua, NY, and volunteers at St. Matthew’s Church.

Helmer Ramirez, Co-Owner & Operations Director

Helmer is our heavy equipment operator, mechanical engineer, and Licensed General Contractor. As a Commercial Driver (CDL), Helmer transports timber up to ten tons and twenty-four feet long. He maintains the Bobcat, backhoe loader, heavy truck, and manages our yard. Helmer also has experience with metal fabrication and is a licensed mechanic.

Kiko

Kiko is our mascot, security guard, and he chairs the welcoming committee. As the most tenured amongst us, Kiko provides moral support at the mill, in the shop, and serves as a constant reminder to keep our heads up and the quality of our work even higher.
